Kinderkunsthaus offers weekly classes in set groups which children can visit regularly without their parents. In advantage to the open program children in those set groups can work on a complex piece together for a longer period of time. Classes will be split in age groups, class sizes will be 5-10 kids. “Pünktchen” class | for ages 2 to 3

This weekly class is for children and parents seeking the community of like-minded crafters. Painting, drawing, stamping, kneading and having fun – all that will be stimulated here. There will be an individual focus tailored to the group.

The Kinderkunsthaus is barrier-free, changing table available.

Instructor “Pünktchen” on Tuesday: Angie Martin-Schütz

Angie Martin-Schütz is a qualified social education worker and licensed child care worker. During her studies she focused on the creative fields, interned at the “Schule der Phantasie”, among others, and accumulated experience in art education at “Spielen in der Stadt e.V.”. After her graduation, she dedicated her time to raising her children. She is part of the Kinderkunsthaus team since Feb. 2013.

Instructor „Pünktchen“ on Thursday: Katharina Raif

…studied stage and costume design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. After graduation, she worked as an assistant and creative contributor at Semper Opera Dresden, Kammerspiele and Residenztheater München, opera house Zurich and Aalto Theater Essen before starting to design her own stage settings and costumes for plays and opera productions. Katharina has been part of the team since March 2015, contributing her professional and private experience from theater and from being mother.


“Farbklecks”class | for ages 3 to 5

“Farbklecks” is a class aimed at children aged 3 to 5. Each week, the young artists come together to create and craft in a closed group. Painting, drawing, crafting, printing, making models, building – almost everything is possible.

Instructor “Farbklecks” on Thursdays: Hannah Stolz

…finished her education in Marketing and Communication with an ad agency in Munich in 2014. Since fall 2014 she has been studying art education and literature at LMU Munich. Her passion is the care of and creative work with children and adolescents. She has worked as an art instructor for toddlers aged 12 months to 2,5 years and has gained practical experience in art education. Hannah has been supporting the Kinderkunsthaus since September 2016 in the open program, with courses, workshops and children’s birthdays.


Painting & Drawing | Ages 6 to 8 or 9 to 11

It is possible to paint and draw in various ways. In this class, participants get to know a variety of artistic techniques and approaches to create expressive pictures. Be it perspective drawing, scribbling, shading, priming, blotting, painting at an easel or with a salad spinner – children can experiment to their liking with pencil, quill, paintbrush and more.

Instructor „Painting & Drawing“ ages 6 to 8: Katharina Tatiana Dietmaier

Katharina Tatiana Dietmaier did her master studies in Comparative Literature, Art History and Gender Studies from 2005 to 2010 at university Regensburg. Afterwards she has worked at The German Academy for Children’s Literature as an event manager and publicist for two years, followed by a two-year-residence in Mexico City, where she studied at the art academy and taught language and culture lessons to children and adults. Since then she has been working as a freelancer in art and cultural education, in schools, youth centers and homes for asylum seekers. She is currently studying paining at the Academy of Fine arts with Pia Fries.

Instructor „Painting & Drawing“ ages 9 to 11: Laia Martí Puig

…educated in Fine Arts and Graphic Reproduction in Barcelona and Munich.

Laia is currently working as an independent artist at the initiative Leonrodhaus in Munich and studies at the Academy of Fine Arts. She shares her creative and artistic talent and experience with children, adolescents and adults in courses, workshops and the open program at the Kinderkunsthaus. Her main focus is on printing and craftmanship techniques and processes as well as the creational process of a painting in its various forms.


Woodworking class | ages 6 to 10

In this weekly class, participants will work with the material wood. Artisans and crafters who like to saw, sand and drill will get their money’s worth here. Workpieces will be created in individual and group work, where children can let their imagination run free.

Instructor „Woodworking“: Anna-Lena Steinbach

Anna-Lena Steinbach studies Art Education at LMU Munich, graduating this summer. In addition to her studies, she acquired artistic and art educational competence, developing her interests further. Beside her university work she worked with two refugee projects and lead her own intercultural Street Art project with adolescents from Palestine and Germany. Additionally, she has been volunteering working with children and adolescents for seven years. She has been freelancing at Kinderkunsthaus since 2013 and has already taught several woodworking and workshop classes.


Animated movie class | ages 7 to 10

Looking for a film team! In this weekly class you are the directors, working conjointly on an animation movie. You are going to learn the various possibilities of stop motion technique and will experiment with classic animation, cut out animation, and claymation. You’re going to develop a plot, draw storyboards and will work as set and character designers. In the end we will edit the scenes and record audio with the help of an editing software. In this class we will work with different media, thus beside cameras, computers and animation software we will also use different crafting material.

Instructor: Lea Wilsdorf

Lea Wilsdorf has been studying at the Academy of Fine Arts Munich since 2013, in Res Ingold’s class. She has already gained experience working with children and adolescents in an all-day school and through school internships. Lea started her volunteer year at the Kinderkunsthaus in 2011 and has been a part of the team as a freelancer since 2013.

Studio 23 – The Youth Program at the Kinderkunsthaus

At Studio 23, various classes and workshops are offered for adolescents (aged 11-16).
