Aesthetic education, the encouragement of creativity and the joy of free artistic production stand in the center of the nonprofit organization Kinderkunsthaus. In a relaxed atmosphere and without pressure we provide a safe environment to experiment, develop, interact with other children and be creative with various creation techniques. It is our goal as a non-profit organization to further the children’s creativity and independence, match their individual needs, visions and fields of interest. Haptic experience in an increasingly digitalized world is equally important as the playful exposure to creation techniques themselves. We furthermore create space to explore new things even beyond the arts. The process of “doing it yourself” is always in the center of our work – duration and result is defined by each child individually. We also want to acknowledge each piece of art in a special way. Therefore we present the children’s work in our gallery. Kinderkunsthaus is an open, creative space for all generations. To show solidarity and integrative behavior is ensured in our daily work.

We are against discrimination
The Kinderkunsthaus stands for an appreciative and non-discriminating experience for all visitors, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, height, age or religion. We do not tolerate harassment or insult to visitors or employees in any form, be it in words, pictures or deeds. Visitors who violate these rules may be excluded from our facility at the discretion of the responsible day management. We ask all visitors to respect this and expect the same from our staff.

Freedom of the arts is a matter of course for us, a right enshrined in Article 5 of the german constitution and part of our democracy. This applies to the staff employed in our institution, as well as to all artists who are guests of our institution.
